Building for the Future

Building for the Future

For several years now, the Carmelite Sisters have been asking the following question: How can we best meet the needs of our elders? We discovered that the current options of healthcare are often inadequate and leave our beloved elders, who deserve the best we can give them, vulnerable and at-risk. That is why we are building a continuum of healthcare for our beloved seniors at Santa Teresita. It is a new concept – A Neighborhood of Care.

The Rose Gardens at Santa Teresita: A Neighborhood of Care
a Mount Carmel Health Ministries Project

The Rose Gardens at Santa Teresita (a Mount Carmel Health Ministries project) will be a custom-built neighborhood of care providing service to our seniors whether they are looking to live alone, need assistance in their daily living, or are in need of rehabilitative care, skilled nursing or therapy. The Rose Gardens will be a community welcoming people of all faiths as they enjoy their senior years. The home-like atmosphere will provide a supportive, encouraging and engaging environment for all. The loving care and professional skills of the Carmelite Sisters and staff will be there if and as often as needed.

Another word for The Rose Gardens is a simple word – home.

The Master Plan for The Rose Gardens was completed in 2009. Restoration of specified buildings prior to construction is now finishing. Demographic and other research studies, which substantiate the need for independent, assisted living and skilled nursing for seniors in the San Gabriel Valley and beyond, are also completed.
